V for Vendetta - ComicHaha.. I have completed reading V for Vendetta. Reading the original work is definitely more worth it than watching the movie. I fully understand why Alan Moore chose not to be associated with the film even when it was such a hit. The reason is simple: the film is only half as good as the comics (thoughI must point out that the film certainly made it easier to grasp).
Just to point out a few areas whereby the film deviates from the comics, in the comics:
- There was a government agent, Derek, who was killed by V. So what's so important about Derek? He wasn't. It was his wife, Rosemary. She blamed the president for her predicament and she was the one who killed the president.
- The above being the case, V did not get entangled in the gun fight to kill off the president. He was killed by the cop, Finch. In fact, V allowed himself to be killed by Finch at the train station. I think this is the all-so-cool part of V's planning.
- Evey took over the mantle of V.
If you can get your paws on this comics, please do.
