X-Men 3Went with Seed to NUS yesterday morning to pay the fees for hostel application. I still stick to the view that admin staffs have not-so-good customer services but I suppose they have to be so to make their point understood.
Anyway, we went to catch X-Men 3 thereafter. For those who have yet to watch, be sure to stay till the credits end. The next few paras might contain some spoiler.....
Well.. It is a block-buster to begin with. So there is actually nothing much to complain about even though it was disappointing that Charles Xavier and Cyclops died so early in the show without much of a fight. Maybe this is just to make a point that they are ordinary people too.
Another disappointment was Pheonix. I was still hoping to see more of a "class 5" mutant's powers. Instead, they gave us the stupid old man, Magneto and his nothing-new magnetic powers. Pheonix ended up just being there for most of the show.
Somehow, I feel that it was morally incorrect of the way the X-Men disposed of Magneto. I suppose the director sees that too and he directed for the partial dilema of the team to be portrayed. Anyhow, I rather a few more of them die than to win that way.
Finally, I expected Angel to play a not-so-big role in the movie cuz he ... well he only has wings. In a world with people levitating off the ground, I don't think wings are anything very special... Just that maybe they are beautiful to some - like the lady scientist/doctor with the needle and her "omg" expression. Anyway, I feel Angel served his purpose and the director couldn't have chose a better character forthat purpose - the flight of freedom, to freedom. That which a pair of dove wings symbolises..
Btw, Seed will agree with me that Storm is more beautiful than in X-Men 1. But I still feel that Pheonix look hotter in her maroon costume and with her red hair.
