No comments for the first part just to share that there is such a fund around. see
Dove Self-Esteem Fund. Let's just say I saw it yesterday and I still can't get over it.
On a separate note, I came across two of these today at Bugis (near the temple).

As I was waiting for my parents to complete their shopping, I spent a considerable amount of time there to observe them. I must say that the following is subject to my interpretation. I feel that the timing and day couldn't be better for such a stunt ( I shall use stunt for I do not know of a better word). It is the 15th on the chinese calendar today, a day when worshippers flock to the temple to pray and stuffs like that. To me the guy on the right seems to represent some form of a religious preacher while the lady on the left seems to represent some form of a chinese goddess or sth. Yet both are dressed in european style so that the link with the religion is not that clear. Then wat really grabbed my interest was the use of toy birds in their hands. The birds flap their wings as the tableaux move their hands in actions of 'all hear' and 'let's rejoice' sort of way. at least this was the impression I got. Anyway, the message I seemed to interpret from it all is that they are showing the constraints of religions and urging people to be free of it. ha.. None too clear?? Oh well..
